Begin 2018 With Intention: Mission Statement & Words of the Year
Hello Lovelies!
I hope you are having the most amazing first week of the year. I was able to carve out a good amount of time to sit down and really think about what I want 2018 to look like for me.
I found this time and the results to be SO inspirational and refreshing. I am already feeling better about my actions and goals this year and I wanted to share some of my strategies in hopes that you can feel some of this refreshing clarity as well.
Countless books and much research on long-term happiness and fulfillment in life have shown that an intentional life is a guarantee for greater happiness.
This year I wanted to start off with intention and what better way to do that than to select some very meaningful and intentional words of the year?
I encourage you to sit down and really think about what words and phrases resonate with you and who you want to be this year. Write them down and don't be afraid to be SUPER confident about it! Set aside a little bit of time to brainstorm and just simply write down everything that comes to mind that really sticks with you.
After you get a good amount from your brain down on paper, pick out 2 to 3 words that REALLY resonate with you and who you want to be by the end of this year.
Here are mine:
Words of the Year:
Authenticity: I want to be unapologetically myself in everything I do.
Vulnerability: I want to be okay with being vulnerable in order to achieve more meaningful relationships and purposeful living.
For an even more intentional and happy year, I wanted to craft a personal mission statement that I could turn to anytime I need to feel grounded. I took some of the words that really stood out to me from my earlier brainstorming and put them together into an awesome power statement that seriously brings tears to my eyes when I read it. Here is mine...I encourage you to take 15 minutes to give it a try!
Mission Statement:
"I am a confident and empowered young woman who embraces authenticity and is unapologetically myself. I practice vulnerability to foster meaningful connection in my life but remain firmly rooted in my character-driven, principle-based way of life. I prioritize and value my own happiness and foster infectious happiness in others at every opportunity. I am comfortable with setting boundaries to consistently live in the abundance of life. I am spiritually in tune with myself and the universe and make it a priority to be so. I am open-minded and open-ended, welcoming every opportunity for learning, growth, and experience."
What do you think? I'm going to be honest...it took some serious vulnerability for me to share that with the world but I am very proud to share my authentic self with all of you.
I would love to have you all give these ideas the time they deserve and to share your results with me on my Facebook Page, on Instagram or below in the comments...let's all inspire each other and hold each other accountable for an amazing 2018 of growth and happiness!
Stay lovely,
